There is a widespread idea that wooden lenses are not ecological since they encourage deforestation. It is quite the opposite: Unlike plastic, wood is a renewable and biodegradable material, meaning that wild biomass regenerates over time and plastic waste takes hundreds of years to degrade.

We are deeply convinced that with strict and responsible control of the plantations and the volume of wood necessary to produce the frames, our impact on the environment is minimal. We are not building bridges or houses here the quantities of wood used are minimal.

In short, there are no magic solutions to take care of the environment, we believe that using wood in an eco-responsible way is a lesser evil since what is taken from nature is returned and then grows again cyclically.
